Due to health concerns, religious beliefs, or personal preferences, people with certain dietary restrictions sometimes struggle to figure out what ingredients a certain dish contains and whether they should eat it. Since many restaurants don’t include these information on their menus, severe health problems might occur due to the simple negligence.
In this session, we will talk about how we use Docker to build “Phood,” a web app that is able to scan food and menus to find out potential allergens and special concerns according to user preferences; based on the scanned records, it can also provide recommendations for a healthier meal.
